Dermatology

Dermatology is a branch of medicine involving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair and nails. It is a complicated and dynamic field of medicine with rapidly changing and expanding treatment options for multiple conditions. Dermatologists treat skin diseases such as inflammations, infections, burns, tumors, acne and some allergies. BVMA is dedicated to delivering the highest quality in dermatologic care. We offer general dermatology, dermatologic surgery and ultraviolet light therapy in a friendly and caring environment.

 


Michael L. Cairns, M.D. earned his Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and Zoology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He continued his education at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, graduating Valedictorian of his class. After receiving his Doctorate of Medicine, Dr. Cairns completed an internship in Pediatrics and a residency in Dermatology at Wright State University College of Medicine. Dr. Cairns is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the Society of Pediatric Dermatology. He began his practice at the Arnett Clinic in Lafayette, Indiana where he practiced for six years before beginning his practice at BVMA in June of 2005.
