Dermatology is a branch of medicine involving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair and nails. It is a complicated and dynamic field of medicine with rapidly changing and expanding treatment options for multiple conditions. Dermatologists treat skin diseases such as inflammations, infections, burns, tumors, acne and some allergies. BVMA is dedicated to delivering the highest quality in dermatologic care. We offer general dermatology, dermatologic surgery, Mohs surgery, cosmetic dermatology services (including laser treatment) and ultraviolet light therapy in a friendly and caring environment.

Mohs surgery is a precise surgical technique used to treat skin cancer. During Mohs surgery, thin layers of cancer-containing skin are progressively removed and examined until only cancer-free tissue remains. Click here to check out a video produced by the American College of Mohs Surgery for a great overview of the procedure and its benefits.
