Cardiology

Cardiology is the medical specialty that focuses on treatment of diseases of the heart, blood vessels and circulation. At BVMA, our cardiologists are skilled in preventing, diagnosing and treating conditions of theses organs in adults. BVMA offers several diagnostic cardiology services, stress testing, 24-hour ambulatory BP monitoring and nuclear cardiology testing. More extensive procedures, such as cardiac catheritization are also performed by the physicians in association with Blanchard Valley Hospital.




Gregory P. Gerschutz, M.D. received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Ohio Northern University and his Doctorate of Medicine from The Ohio State University. After completing an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, Dr. Gerschutz continued his medical education with a fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Gerschutz began his Cardiology practice with Blanchard Valley Medical Associates in July of 2002.

David J. Meier, M.D., F.A.C.C. began his post-high school education by earning a Bachelor's of Arts in Chemistry and Zoology, with a minor in Psychology, from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, earning Magna Cum Laude distinction. Following medical school at OSU, Dr. Meier completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Michigan. To specialize, Dr. Meier tackled not one, but two fellowships at the U of M; one in general Cardiology and one in Interventional Cardiology. After the completion of his extensive education and training, Dr. Meier began his practice at BVMA in July of 2005. Dr. Meier is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Cardiology.

Jeremy J. Clark, CNP is a native of Mount Blanchard, Ohio and a graduate of Riverdale High School. Jeremy graduated from Owens Community College with an Associate's Degree in Nursing; from Ohio University with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; and then from The Ohio State University with a Master's of Science, Family Nurse Practitioner in 2018. Prior to joining BVMA in August 2018, Jeremy worked in cardiac units in both Findlay and Toledo hospitals for 8 years. After the completion of his CNP, Jeremy worked as an adult hospitalist. Jeremy is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Amy Sloan, ANP graduated from the University of Tennessee with Bachelor degree in of Science in Nursing.  She received her Master of Science degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN in 2010.  During her Master’s degree she specialized in Cardiology.   Amy has worked in Cardiology for over 18 years with advanced training in preventive medicine, cardiology care, and lipid management.  Amy is a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She joined the BVMA cardiology team in June 2021.
